Reblogged from Black Box Warnings:
We were secretly blessed with the birth of Sweet Baboo. He was completely different, right from the start, than First Born Experiment. For one, he was a boy. His birth was fast and he was big: 2 hours, almost 10 lbs. I'm 5'2''.
Sweet Baboo was a very content baby. He was a healthy sleeper, taking long 4 hour naps in the day.
I wrote this a few weeks ago for Le Clown's Black Box Warnings site. It's a personal story about my son which greatly affected our early years as a family. Thank you to Le Clown for the chance to share it.

Wow, thanks for sharing such a personal story. As a former teacher, I found it very interesting, but as a parent I can only imagine how difficult it must have been to deal with clueless pediatricians and uncertainty about the best way to help your child. My biggest beef with current education is the “one size fits all” mandates that are coming down from politicians who think a high test score is all that matters in a child’s life. I hope you fight for your son and his individual ways of learning and thriving. School is about so much more than filling up a brain with facts and figures. He will probably turn out to be one of your greatest teachers.
Thanks Angela. It was a pretty rough road for a while. Now that we are into the school system he seems to have caught up to his peers physically and is doing very well in school. He still has sensitivities and his own emotional ways of being, but overall I think Life is about trying to find each child’s individual ways of thriving. That, certainly, has been ongoing for both of our kids and continues to challenge me daily.
